A man has been locked up behind bars for two years after he was caught by the police class A drugs in Newbury.

Wasim hussain, 21, of Middlesborough was convicted of one count of  and one count of possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession with intent to supply heroin.

He was taken into police custody after he was pulled over by the police for a stop and search in Berkshire.

During the search, officers found 72 wraps of crack cocaine and 22 wraps of heroin. He was immediately arrested and taken to the station to be charged for drug offences.

Further police investigation found Mr Hussain was connected to ”county lines” drug dealings.

After Hussain was arrested, he was charged and was ordered to show up at Reading Crown Court where he pleaded guilty and was sent to jail.

Investigating officer, PC James Botto, based at Newbury police station, said: “This case is another example of county line drug dealing and the conviction shows how Thames Valley Police and the Crown Prosecution service are committed to investigating such offences and bringing offenders to justice.

“No matter what the level of involvement is regarding drug supply the authorities will seek to prosecute. In this case Hussain was transporting drugs into Newbury from the London area for others to sell. Without this courier service there would be no supply and the conviction reflects the seriousness of his actions”.

Helpful Quotes on Drugs

#1 “I have absolutely no pleasure in the stimulants in which I sometimes so madly indulge. It has not been in the pursuit of pleasure that I have periled life and reputation and reason. It has been the desperate attempt to escape from torturing memories, from a sense of insupportable loneliness and a dread of some strange impending doom.” – Edgar Allan Poe

#2 “People use drugs, legal and illegal, because their lives are intolerably painful or dull. They hate their work and find no rest in their leisure. They are estranged from their families and their neighbours. It should tell us something that in healthy societies drug use is celebrative, convivial, and occasional, whereas among us it is lonely, shameful, and addictive. We need drugs, apparently, because we have lost each other.” – Wendell Berry

#3 “Drugs are a waste of time. They destroy your memory and your self-respect and everything that goes along with your self esteem.” – Kurt Cobain
