Fiaz Ahmed from Longsight forced his way into a 50 year old woman’s house and then raped her has been sentenced to jail for 8 years and also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.

Fiaz spotted the vulnerable woman when she was out for a walk to nearby Levenshulme.

Fiaz who was drunk at the time tried talking to the woman but she avoided him and continued walking.

Fiaz then grabbed her hand and would not let go and kept walking with the woman.

When they reached the woman’s house she asked Fiaz to let her go, Fiaz tried to convince her to let him in.

Fiaz then raped the vulnerable woman at her house and escaped through the front room window when a council security patrol knocked on the door who were alerted by a concerned neighbour.

Detective Constable Rob Kitchen said: “Fiaz Ahmed is a predator who saw his opportunity to prey on a vulnerable woman and took it without giving a second thought to the traumatic effect it would have on his victim.

“I understand that it won’t change what happened but I hope the sentence passed here today will go some way to giving the victim some closure.

“I would like to pay her a huge tribute for the strength that she has shown throughout this investigation and thank her for the absolutely vital assistance that she has given us to help take this man off the streets.”
