A man from London has been sent to prison for posting explicit material of his ex-girlfriend on his Instagram Account for revenge.
Cem Kucukbalaban, 21 years old was sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court and was found guilty of stalking and disclosing private sexual images with intent to cause distress and harassment
The device that had all the explicit footage oh his ex-girlfriend was ordered by the authorities to be destroyed.
The court heard: Kucukbalaban started becoming intimidating, sending his ex-girlfriend constant messages and following her home after they had broke up. In revenge he made a fake Instagram account under her name and posted explicit images of her to cause her distress.
The authorities said Kucukbalaban took them images without her knowledge using software’s to record her while on a video call.
The victim then reported Kucukbalaban to the police and he was arrested. His phone was seized and the investigators found explicit images of the victim on his mobile phone that he posted on the fake Instagram account.
Kucukbalaban was sentenced to serve 21 months in prison at Wood Green Crown Court.
“Kucukbalaban carried out a sustained and spiteful campaign of abuse against a vulnerable victim of domestic abuse and clearly intended to cause the victim great distress and fear,” Detective Inspector Pete Dyche of Enfield CID, said.
“I hope that today’s sentence allows her a measure of comfort that enables her to move on with her life.”
