A GP sexually assaulted 20 female patients at his surgery during unnecessary breast and vaginal examinations, a court heard today.

Dr Manish Shah, 48, allegedly carried out the assaults at the Mawney Medical Centre in Romford, Essex, between June 2009 and July 2013.

One of the alleged victims was aged just 15, it is claimed.

But the GP – who was photographed arriving at the Old Bailey in London today – insists he only carried out appropriate examinations.

The details of the allegations against Dr Shah cannot be reported for legal reasons.

Shah, of Romford, denies 75 counts of a sexual nature and the trial is expected to last four months
