A sexual predator has been sent to prison at Derby Crown Court for sexually assaulting three underage girls and admitting he was sexually interested in young girls.

The Crown Court was told, Aashique Ali aged 39 years-old, sexually assaulted one of his victims by pulling her underwear down while uttering sexually offensive words to her.

He also pushed her top up to get a view of her chest then moved his hand towards her upper thighs and kissed her neck.

Aashique of Chellaston, then sexually targeted 2 other underage girls by pulling their clothes down to get them naked.

The police were called when one of the girls went and told her mother, what Aashique did to her.

The police then launched an investigation and arrested and seized Aashique’s mobile phone and found disturbing images related to child abuse.

Aashique Ali was sentenced to seven years and four months at derby Crown Court.

Judge Peter Cooke said during sentencing: “You have been commendably candid about not just what you did but why you did it.

“But one aspect I am struggling to accept, as is the author of your pre-sentence report, is that this prurient interest in underage girls only manifested itself last year.

“You moved from looking at pictures to doing something about it and that has been your downfall.”

“In a victim impact statement, one of the victims says her education has suffered because of what happened and there is a male family friend, who has done absolutely nothing wrong, who she cannot bear to be with anymore.

“When police analysed the defendant’s mobile phone, after his arrest, it contained one category A indecent image (the most serious) and four category C.”

CPS Mr Ian West told the court, In Aashique’s police interview he “denied any wrong doing” but he later pleaded guilty to one count of possession of indecent images and seven counts of sexual assault of a child.

Sonal Ahya, mitigating, said: “This defendant comes from a very supportive family and his father is appalled at his son’s behaviour.

“He knows custody is going to be difficult for him and his family.”

Aashique was also handed a sexual harm prevention order for life.
