Aquib Ahmed, 18, and another boy aged 16-years-old raped a young woman holding a gun to her head have been locked up behind bars at Sheffield Crown Court.

Aquib Ahmed was sentenced to serve 20 years in jail for his part in a ‘heartless’ attack on a young woman in her 20’s.

The other 16-year old boy who can not be named for legal reasons was sentenced to serve six years in jail for the same offence.

Police said, both men subjected the woman to a heartless rape attack while threatening the woman and her father with a handgun.

South Yorkshire Police said: Both men broke into a property in Sheffield, last year March looking for drugs.

But very quickly both men realised they had broke into the wrong house as the residents had no drugs or any criminal connections.

The men left and came back after three days with only one motivation, to rape the innocent woman.

DC David Devey said: “They returned to the house, purely for their own sexual gratification, where they threatened the man and his daughter at gunpoint before they each raped the young woman repeatedly.

“Ahmed told the man and his daughter he’d kill them both if they reported what happened to police.”

DC Anna Sedgwick who led the investigation, said: “The victims quite rightly viewed their home as a safe place, where they could relax and spend time with each other.

“Both offenders have selfishly destroyed this, subjecting them both, and especially the woman, to what can only be described as a disgusting, heartless attack. The woman has shown immense bravery throughout the entire investigative process and I’d like to praise the strength she has shown after being subjected to this horrendous ordeal.”

Ms Sedgwick further said: “The prosecution described the pair as a twisted tag team, who have shown little to no remorse for what they did, which has ultimately shattered the innocent world of a father and daughter.

“I’m in no doubt that both offenders absolutely deserve today’s sentences and can only hope that father and daughter can continue moving forward with their lives knowing that these abhorrent, cruel, boys are behind bars where they belong.”

Aqiub Ahmed of Barnsley was locked up for 20 years on 31-01-2018 when he pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence at an earlier hearing and two counts of rape

His 16-year-old accomplice was locked up fro six years for the same offence after he pleaded guilty.
